We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a successful and growing UK manufacturing business. This is a key position within the commercial team, responsible for reviewing customer enquiries, specifications and technical drawings to produce accurate, commercially sound quotations.

You’ll work closely with customers and internal teams, making sure all relevant information is obtained, technical requirements are understood and quotations are prepared accurately and delivered within agreed timescales.

The Role

  • Preparing accurate and detailed quotations for customer enquiries
  • Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and project information
  • Identifying missing information, discrepancies and potential technical issues
  • Ensuring assumptions and technical requirements are clearly identified and qualified
  • Liaising directly with customers to obtain further information and clarify requirements
  • Working closely with internal Sales, Commercial and Production teams
  • Ensuring quotations are completed and returned within agreed timescales
  • Managing customer expectations where additional information or time is required
  • Maintaining accurate enquiry information and actions within the CRM system
  • Responding promptly to customer and internal queries
  • Developing a strong understanding of the company's products, manufacturing processes and applications
  • Supporting the wider commercial team and contributing to continuous process improvements

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within an Estimator or similar commercial/technical role
  • Experience reviewing technical drawings and specifications
  • Previous exposure to a manufacturing, joinery, construction, engineering or technical environment
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence communicating with customers and internal stakeholders
  • The ability to identify missing information and challenge discrepancies
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines
  • CRM experience – HubSpot would be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
  • A proactive and inquisitive approach to problem-solving
  • Experience or knowledge of timber products, doors, joinery or fire-rated doors would be particularly advantageous, although candidates with relevant estimating experience from other manufacturing or construction-related sectors are also encouraged to apply.
