About the School

I'm currently working with a highly regarded specialist SEN school that supports pupils aged 7–19 with profound, severe and complex learning difficulties. The school has a genuinely multidisciplinary approach, with teachers working closely alongside Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and specialist support staff to provide an outstanding education. They're currently recruiting for a number of permanent teaching opportunities ahead of the new academic year.

Contract - Permanent | Full Time

Salary - MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance, with a TLR2 available for the Literacy Subject Lead position.

Start Date - September 2026

About the Role

These opportunities are ideal for teachers who already have experience working with students with profound, severe and complex learning difficulties (PMLD/SLD) and are looking to develop their career within a specialist setting. The SEN Teacher role involves planning highly differentiated lessons, contributing to EHCPs and Annual Reviews, implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies, working closely with therapists and leading support staff to ensure every student receives an individualised education.

For experienced SEN teachers looking for progression, there's also a Literacy Subject Lead position, where you'll continue teaching while leading literacy and communication across the school. This includes developing whole-school literacy strategy, mentoring colleagues, working alongside Speech & Language Therapists, monitoring standards and driving improvements in communication and reading outcomes.

To be considered, you'll ideally have:

  • UK QTS (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience teaching pupils with profound and complex learning difficulties
  • Experience with EHCPs, Annual Reviews and personalised learning plans
  • Confidence managing multidisciplinary classrooms and leading support staff
  • A passion for specialist education and helping students achieve their full potential
