We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join the health team within a leading independent school. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to pupils and staff, supporting health and wellbeing across the school community, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care to pupils and staff, responding to day-to-day health needs

Assess, plan and deliver care for acute illness, injuries, and ongoing medical conditions

Administer medication, maintain accurate medical records, and support vaccination programmes

Deliver health education, wellbeing clinics, and promote a positive approach to student welfare

Liaise with parents, GPs, and external healthcare providers

Support safeguarding processes, ensuring policies and procedures are followed at all times

Person Specification

Essential:

Registered Nurse (Adult or Children) with active NMC registration (or Paramedic with HCPC)

*

Experience working with children and young people

Strong knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, and child protection

Calm and professional under pressure, with excellent communication skills

*

Able to work independently and manage a busy caseload

Desirable:

Previous experience in a school or similar environment
