Harris Lee is working with a successful secondary academy in Basingstoke to appoint a Head of English Faculty for September 2026. This is a permanent leadership role within a strong English department with a collaborative team and high expectations for teaching, learning and student progress.
The school is looking for an experienced English specialist who can lead by example, support colleagues and continue to build on the faculty's success. The successful candidate will lead English across KS3 and KS4, with responsibility for curriculum development, teaching and learning, assessment, intervention and staff support.
You will work closely with senior leaders and wider trust colleagues to maintain high standards and ensure students develop confidence in English Language, Literature, reading and communication.
Applicants should have strong secondary English teaching experience, QTS and a clear track record of subject leadership. This could suit an existing Head of English, Deputy Head of English, 2iC English, English Lead, Curriculum Lead or Lead Practitioner ready for the next step.
