Seeking a high-quality Deputy Head of English to join a strong and ambitious English department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced English teacher ready to step into middle leadership, or for an existing Deputy Head of English looking to develop further in a supportive environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of English, playing a key role in curriculum leadership, standards, and outcomes across the department. The Deputy Head of English will retain a full teaching timetable alongside clearly defined leadership responsibilities.
The Role
- Support the strategic leadership of the English department
- Lead on specific areas such as curriculum development, intervention, assessment, or CPD
- Contribute to raising standards and outcomes at GCSE and A-level
- Support and mentor colleagues within the department
- Step in for the Head of English when required

- Is a qualified English teacher with strong KS3 and KS4 experience
