Harris Hill is partnering with the University of Suffolk, a modern, agile institution, with an ambitious growth strategy and a vision to be recognised as an empowering force for individuals and communities. The Alumni Relations and Development team raises charitable funds to enhance the University’s ambitions, ensuring they are spent compliantly and impactfully. They work with donors, prospective donors, ambassadors and funders that promote and support their cause. The University of Suffolk is now seeking a proactive, experienced, and hands-on individual to join the team as a Development Director on a part time, permanent basis.

Role: Development Director

Location: Hybrid working with at least 1 day per week on campus

Salary: £56,000 – £67,000 per annum (FTE) plus benefits

Contract: Part time, permanent (3 days per week)

Amongst other criteria, the successful candidate will have:

  • Extensive philanthropic fundraising experience at a senior level with proven success in identifying, cultivating, and personally soliciting major gifts at the 5 and 6 figure level.
  • Experience in development and fundraising management, including major gifts, legacies and trusts and foundations.
  • Knowledge of Alumni working including strategy and development.
  • Experience of senior executive networking, public speaking, and ability to represent an organisation to a senior external audience.
  • Demonstrated success in setting strategy and achieving strategic outcomes within a comparable size institution.
