Harris Hill are delighted to be working with a fantastic charity to recruit for the Community Fundraising & Research Executive to join the growing Fundraising & Engagement team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing community support, identifying new funding opportunities, and helping to strengthen relationships with supporters across the region.

Working alongside experienced fundraising professionals, you will help expand the charity’s network of community supporters, volunteers, local organisations, businesses, councils, and grassroots groups. You will conduct research, identify new income opportunities, support funding applications, and ensure supporters receive excellent stewardship throughout their journey with the charity.

This role would suit someone with strong administration, customer service, relationship management, or fundraising experience who enjoys working with people and is motivated by achieving meaningful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research & Prospect Development
    • Research and identify new fundraising opportunities, community groups, local organisations, councils, and potential supporters.
    • Maintain accurate prospect records and support the development of fundraising pipelines.
    • Monitor local funding opportunities, application deadlines, and community grant programmes.
    • Conduct due diligence on prospective supporters and funding opportunities.
  • Fundraising Support
    • Assist in preparing funding applications, proposals, presentations, and supporter materials.
    • Help tailor cases for support for different audiences.
    • Produce impact updates and stewardship communications for supporters.
  • Supporter & Volunteer Engagement
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with supporters, volunteers, and community contacts.
    • Respond to enquiries via telephone and email in a professional and timely manner.
    • Coordinate thank-you communications, fundraising resources, and supporter recognition activities.
    • Support volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and engagement initiatives.
  • Team & Project Support
    • Assist with fundraising campaigns, events, and community engagement activities.
    • Monitor fundraising income and application progress.
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple teams to maximise opportunities.
    • Provide administrative support to fundraising leadership and regional teams.
  • Data & Administration
    • Maintain accurate records within the organisation’s CRM system.
    • Produce reports to support fundraising performance and pipeline management.
About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confident building relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Passionate about delivering excellent supporter experiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong administrative skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems.

  • Experience in customer facing, supporter facing, or client facing roles.
  • Experience building and maintaining successful relationships.
  • Experience of general office administration.
  • Experience communicating with a variety of audiences.

  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Experience preparing funding applications or grant submissions.
  • Experience working towards financial or performance targets.
Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Access to a vehicle and willingness to travel throughout the region.

Salary: £26,000-£27,500 per annum

Contract type: full time, permanent

Location: Cosford, West Midlands, hybrid work, 3 days a week in the office
