Harris Hill are delighted to be working with a fantastic charity to recruit for the Community Manager- Kent in order to help to grow support, strengthen community relationships, and deliver ambitious income and engagement targets across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with supporters, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
  • Inspire, recruit, and support volunteers, ensuring they have the tools and guidance needed to succeed.
  • Deliver regional income, engagement, and performance targets.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across fundraising, partnerships, marketing, events, visitor experiences, and retail operations.
  • Identify opportunities to grow supporter engagement and improve volunteer experiences.
  • Support community events, campaigns, and local initiatives.
  • Manage resources effectively, ensuring activities are delivered within agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and collaboration.
  • Act as an ambassador for the organisation within the community.

As a Community Manager, you will work closely with supporters, volunteers, donors, and local communities to create positive experiences that encourage long-term involvement and advocacy. You will lead volunteer engagement, support fundraising initiatives, and help ensure regional goals are achieved through collaboration, innovation, and excellent relationship management.

About You

You are an experienced community engagement, fundraising, or volunteer management professional with a proven ability to motivate people and deliver results. You'll bring:

  • Significant experience engaging supporters, volunteers, customers, or community groups.
  • A strong track record of achieving targets and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills.
  • Experience leading and influencing volunteers or teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A creative and innovative approach to engagement and community development.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of organisational priorities and challenges.

This post requires a valid driving licence.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: £35,853- £42,181 per annum
Contract type: 12 months FTC, full time, 37 hrs a week
Location: remote, you have to be based in Kent
Deadline: 14th June at 8am

Please note this area covers Sheerness, Whitstable, Margate, Ramsgate, Walmer, Dover, Littlestone, Dungeness and requires a significant level of travel within the designated region but will also require occasional travel to other assets including Poole.
