I have a unique opportunity working with a national disability charity, as their Community Activism Lead. You will utilise your strong campaigning, digital, and mobilisation skills to develop and implement an effective model for facilitating activism across the UK to empower communities to influence and enhance the services that their deaf children rely on.

Are you excited to develop activism among families and community groups?

Your background and experience:

  • Track record of designing and delivering successful influencing campaigns, particularly those that have led to policy change and improved services.
  • Knowledge of the latest approaches for engaging people in campaigns (including those with lived experience), effective supporter journeys and mobilising campaigners (including through digital), using data and insight.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; adept at building and maintaining relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels, including parents or carers (desirable)
  • Good knowledge of devolution and political systems/structures in the UK at a national and local level, as well as opportunities to influence them
  • Ability to independently plan your own programme of work and apply strategic thinking.

Leading pilot programmes will mean a pro-active, self-starter approach is essential, to enjoy the role, and gain buy-in both externally and internally across the charity.

  • Location- Remote based within the UK, with regular travel across the UK (approximately twice a month).
  • Full-time, permanent role.
  • 35 hour week, with flexible working hours between 10am-2.30pm.
  • Salary £43,000- £47,000
