We are seeking an experienced Configuration Engineer to join our configuration and data management team. There is the opportunity within the role to also build the skills and knowledge needed to help support the Component Engineers in the team.
What the role will involve:
- Co-ordinate and control the Change Management processes for design change including Problem reporting (PR), Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Order (ECO).
- Be accountable for Change and Configuration Management Processes, working closely with colleagues to co-ordinate activity across all departments.
- Work closely with engineering, supply chain and Operations to ensure that the required data is configuration controlled and vaulted within our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) database.
- Produce Change Management/ Status accounting information in a timely manner to feed into weekly forums.
- Proactively focus on continuous improvement, working with others to develop strong working relationships, improve the user experience, simplify processes and improve efficiency.
- Support the Component Engineering team with the management of component obsolescence issues.
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Configuration Engineer or similar role.
- Experience of CMII best practice and principles.
- Demonstrable experience in the use of both PLM and ERP systems (such as Aras Innovator, Windchill and SAP).
- Document control experience.
- Strong auditing skills and the ability to initiate corrective action in a positive manner.
- Ideally some knowledge and understanding of electronic and mechanical components and how they are specified.
