From 11 UK sites, our team of nearly 1,000 people delivers unique capabilities across space, air, land, sea and cyber for military, security and commercial customers across the UK and worldwide.
L3Harris in Farnborough engineer and maintain Night Vision Goggles, Precision Approach Radar systems, and Tactical Radios. Notably, we are the proud designer, supplier and maintainer of the 50,000 tactical radios in the Bowman tactical C4I system in service with the UK Armed Forces and are working to define and deliver the next generation system, Morpheus.
We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our Operations Department. The role will require the ability to troubleshoot to component level using Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), circuit diagrams and debug software. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for Fault Finding to component level on both RF modules and complex CCA’s, performing assembly/test of highly complex assemblies used in military communications, conduct Special To Type Equipment (STTE) acceptance and/or qualification and/or type tests. The role will involve some design/development and improvements to existing processes and procedures for new products working to tight timescales.
What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Working closely with other departments (Operations Test/Troubleshoot, Manufacturing Engineering, QA, Program Management) to ensure a successful outcome.
- Test Procedures – may be required to assist with the preparation of production test procedures from engineering specifications to assure that the product is being adequately tested in every parameter required.
- Assist on cost reduction and records to identify problem areas in test.
