Our Brighton business is moving to a new location in 2027. The new site is expected to be located in either Shoreham, Burgess Hill or Horsham and will be within a 15-minute drive of our current site. For over 70 years, L3Harris has designed and developed industry‑leading carriage and release systems for fighter, rotary‑wing and unmanned platforms and we design, manufacture and test a large portion of our release systems portfolio in our Brighton facility which offers 48,500 square feet of manufacturing space. Our mission‑critical release systems equipment is on most major airborne fighter platforms worldwide, including the F‑35, along with other aircraft like the Gripen and Typhoon.

The Quality Manager is a core member of the Operations leadership team providing guidance on the governance, cadence, development, implementation, leadership & measurement necessary to ensure total quality management within the company.

What the role will involve:

  • Ensuring the business adheres to governance, standards, regulations and customer requirements
  • Develop and set Quality goals, proactively seeking opportunities to provide QA inputs to company and operational strategy.
  • Responsible for leading, providing guidance, coaching and training to the Quality team and other staff members.
  • Actively engage in reducing operating costs and increasing efficiency, seeking ways to improve performance of KPIs.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma techniques and the E3 (Excellence, Everywhere, Every day) strategy.
  • Lead the Quality team ensuring collaboration with the Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Engineering Function to assure the quality of goods and services.
  • Listen to customer feedback, understand their requirements and seek opportunities for improvement.
  • Benchmarking and adapting industry best practices to drive continual improvement in quality management processes.

What you’ll bring:

  • Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Management Systems with in‑depth knowledge of manufacturing, engineering development & project management.
  • The incumbent must have experience of managing Supplier Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering and Quality Control personnel.
  • Substantial experience in a high complexity design and manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace / defence industry.
  • Experience working in an ISO9001/AS9100 environment, preferably with previous experience of developing / supporting / maintaining high standards of accreditation.
  • Previous experience in leading the solution for product realisation would be beneficial, including APQP / PPAP, customer interaction, supplier interaction, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) support, supplier component development & approval and supplier cost improvements.
