The Manufacturing Technician will assemble and test electro‑mechanical products in our Release Systems & Antennas division, ensuring all components meet performance and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Carry out preliminary electrical checks such as resistance, inductance and continuity tests
- Perform linearity checks for electrical and mechanical properties
- Conduct electrical test and inspection to drawings and specifications using instruments such as oscilloscope, power supply, meters
- Perform inter‑stage and final tests on frame scan motors (torque loading, demagnetisation, degaussing)
- Assemble electrical components (solder wires, tags, components onto boards or terminals)
- Build and test electro‑mechanical assemblies including bearing fitting, shaft radial and end play measurement, optical graticule alignment for frame scan motors, and other precision components for aircraft
- Maintain accurate test sheets, traceability documentation
- Support and verify first offs of electro‑mechanical and inter‑stage assemblies
Qualifications
- ONC/HNC in a Manufacturing/Engineering discipline plus experience in an electro‑mechanical test environment (other experience considered)
- Ability to understand and interpret electro‑mechanical drawings
- Experience completing defect investigation reports (DIR) on repairs
- Soldering skills in line with IPC‑610
- Attention to detail, strong PC skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workload
- Experience with Cirris cable test programming (desirable)
- Fault finding in electro‑mechanical equipment, including PCBs to component level (desirable)
