About this opportunity and L3Harris UK: From 11 UK sites, our team of nearly 1,000 people delivers unique capabilities across space, air, land, sea and cyber for military, security and commercial customers across the UK and worldwide. L3Harris in Bristol is our headquarters for our Maritime UK businesses which provides warship automation systems through control and simulation solutions that are in service on Albion Class Landing Platform Docks and Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers. More systems are being developed and delivered for Type 26 and Type 31 frigates. We have additional Maritime UK sites across Burgess Hill, Barrow-In-Furness and Portchester. Together, we are powering the Royal Navy’s adoption of autonomous surface vehicle technology as well as delivering autonomous capability to UK ports, harbours and offshore energy service providers.

What the role will involve: The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Bid responsibility will range between 15 to 25 diverse opportunities at any one time with values between tens of thousands up to £100m
  • Constructing the fully resource Bid Delivery Schedule with MS Project and loading to Project Server
  • Support all Gate reviews from PQQ to final submission
  • Support Bid Kick off meetings and appropriately timed stand up sessions
  • Produce weekly reports on status of their bid portfolio
  • Ensure all relevant stakeholders are updated as to the progress, issues, concerns and risks of all their bids.
  • Carry out lessoned learnt activities post bid submission ensuring these are fed back to the team and actioned accordingly

What you’ll bring: The role requires the following experience and skills:

  • 5+ years’ bid experience combined with a proven track record of delivering winning opportunities
  • Experience in a rigorously regulated industry – defence or aviation preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with experience of leading teams and managing relationships with all levels of the business
  • Reporting and forecasting experience
  • Highly computer literate in MS Office and preferably MS Project
  • A self-motivated team player, able to operate with the minimum of supervision and communicate clearly with employees at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills
