Harris Fowler is a specialist Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence law firm, where our IT department plays a vital role in driving operational efficiency and innovation. We are seeking a technically minded individual to join our IT team as an Application Development & Support Analyst. This is a primarily office-based role in Taunton, Somerset, with hybrid working available following successful completion of probation. Applicants should live within a reasonable commuting distance of Taunton.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and developing our legal case management systems, providing day-to-day IT support across the business, and helping to improve business processes through technology. Experience with Visualfiles is highly desirable; however, we would also like to hear from candidates who have developed or supported similar workflow or case management systems and are keen to learn and develop within our environment.

Job Description
  • Develop and maintain Visualfiles workflows, forms, templates and automation
  • Support and improve the firm's legal systems and business applications
  • Produce reports using SQL, Power BI and Excel
  • Provide day-to-day IT support to colleagues
  • Assist with system upgrades, testing and implementations
  • Support third-party system integrations
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Deliver user training where required
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Development experience using Visual Basic (VB) or similar
  • Experience with workflow scripting and automation within a case management or business system
  • Experience of screen, document, and form creation and maintenance
  • Understanding of database management principles
  • Ability to create and maintain workflow and technical documentation
  • Comfortable working in a role that combines system development and general IT support
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Knowledge of HTML (particularly in relation to forms and Form EVO)
  • SQL experience or familiarity
  • Experience working with Visualfiles or another legal / case management system
  • Experience within a legal or professional services environment
