This is an exciting opportunity for an IT Assistant to join our IT Department within our innovative firm of Solicitors. As 1st Line Support, this role would suit someone with a positive, can-do attitude who is willing and able to support the IT needs of staff across the Practice. The successful applicant will provide day-to-day support and assistance to the existing IT team in relation to hardware, software and general IT issues within the business. The successful candidate will receive training across a variety of tasks in order to gain broad experience within a small and busy IT Department. As this is an office-based role, applicants should be local to Taunton or within a reasonable commuting distance.

Job Description:

  • To assist the IT Department and provide support with software and hardware issues as necessary
  • Provide 1st line support to all users across the firm, offering them support and guidance in the use of our operating systems and associated software
  • Develop skills and knowledge across various areas of IT support and systems
  • Support the preparation, maintenance and refurbishment of IT equipment
  • Assist with the development and testing of the company’s case management software where required
  • Ad-hoc administrative duties as and when required

Person Specification:

  • Enthusiasm to learn new systems and skills, with a demonstrable interest in IT
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, positive approach
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Confident in using MS operating systems and MS Office products (Word, Outlook and Excel)
