We are seeking a skilled and experienced Clinical Negligence Senior Legal Assistant to join our expanding legal team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a varied caseload of complex Clinical Negligence matters, supporting clients through challenging and sensitive circumstances. Job Description

  • Assisting with the management of a caseload of Clinical Negligence files
  • Taking initial instructions from clients and preparing draft witness statements
  • Preparing draft letters of claim, court documents, and other legal documentation
  • Diarising key dates and ensuring compliance with court timetables and procedural deadlines
  • Liaising with clients, insurers, medical experts, counsel, and solicitors
  • Attending conferences with counsel and experts, remotely and in person
  • Taking witness statements relating to liability and quantum
  • Researching liability, quantum, and other legal issues as required
  • Instructing and briefing counsel and medical experts
  • Running matters using the firm’s case management system
  • Supporting fee earner with progressing cases from commencement through to settlement and litigation where appropriate
  • Working collaboratively within the Clinical Negligence team whilst complying with time recording and financial targets

Person Specification

  • Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive – Grade A or B Fee Earner with proven Clinical Negligence experience
  • Previous experience working within a Clinical Negligence caseload
  • Strong working knowledge of litigation processes and the Civil Procedure Rules
  • Ability to manage complex and sensitive cases with professionalism and empathy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment whilst remaining an effective team player
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of financial targets and time recording
  • A compassionate and client-focused approach
