Harris Rainham Sixth Form is a new and ambitious Sixth Form for the young people of Rainham and the surrounding areas. We opened with our first group of year 12 students in September 2023. Our mission is to enable our students to develop the knowledge and skills to flourish in the modern world.

There are a number of features of our Academy that make us unique:

  • An Academy that is large enough to provide a wide-ranging curriculum but small enough for all our students to be known as individuals.
  • A curriculum that develops our students’ academic potential, character, and understanding of the world around them.

  • Collaboration with Harris Academy Rainham and other Sixth Forms across the Harris Federation.
  • A new state of the art building designed to deliver a Sixth Form education.

We are currently looking to appoint a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Psychology. At Harris Rainham Sixth Form, you will join a dedicated team of teachers and staff supporting our excellent students. Harris Rainham Sixth Form is open to flexible working so full and part time applications are welcome.

Main areas of responsibility:

  • To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students.
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
  • To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
  • To share and support the academy’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.

What we are looking for:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Have successful teaching experience at secondary level.
  • Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning.
  • Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and develop positive relationships with all staff.
  • Have good ICT skills.
  • Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students.
  • Have good written and spoken communication skills.
  • Be able to lead and manage their own work effectively.
  • Have excellent time management skills.
  • Be able to motivate students and raise their aspirations.
