Job Description
The Harris Federation is one the highest performing multi academy trusts in the country. ?Summary
We are looking for a part-time (0.6) PPA French Teacher to inspire the lively little learners at Harris Primary Academy Kenley on a fixed-term contract from January to December 2026.
Our dedicated team provides a supportive network both onsite as well as support across the Federation to ensure all our staff feel encouraged to do their best. You will be part of a community of dedicated, friendly staff standing by and upholding its mission in creating and maintaining a supportive and thriving learning environment.
?Main Areas of Responsibility
Your role will include:
- Delivering French lessons and at least one other Foundation subject for children in KS1 and KS2
- Preparing lessons and resources
- Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils with support from the MFL Lead
- Promoting French culture in the academy through supporting the MFL Lead in the organisation of events
Qualifications & Experience
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C or above
- Qualifications to NVQ Level 3, or equivalent
- Qualifications to GCSE (or equivalent) in French
- At least two years’ school-based experience as a HLTA, Unqualified Teacher or Qualified Teacher
- Good understanding of the Languages requirement for students of primary age
- A high level of competence or fluency in Frenc
- Good subject knowledge of core National Curriculum
- Understanding of effective strategies for managing behaviour within the classroom
- An understanding of equal opportunity issues and how they can be addressed in schools
