We are looking for a Breakfast & After School Club Assistant to provide childcare for pupils attending the Harris Primary Academy Coleraine Park Breakfast and After School Club. You will work closely with the children, providing encouragement, friendship, and supervision. The actual salary for this role will be £20,315.37 - £20,605.23 (39 weeks per year, 30 hours per week).
Main Areas of Responsibility:- Assist the Leader in offering a wide range of play activities and ensuring a relaxed, informed, and caring environment.
- Assist in the preparation of breakfast, snacks, cleaning away, and washing up.
- Take responsibility for a designated group of children.
- Ensure the safety of children at all times, including drawing attention to any risks.
- Attend occasional staff meetings and training sessions.
- Accompany children on outings, accepting responsibility for the whereabouts and safety of a designated small group.
- Inform the Leader immediately of any incident which could be detrimental to the well-being of any child within the Club’s care.
- Generate ideas for and participate in new and improved play activities, such as arts and crafts, sports, or cooking.
- NVQ Level 2 in Early Years / Play-work / Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
- A First Aid Certificate (or willingness to acquire).
- A Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to acquire).
- Experience of working with children of relevant age.
- Experience of working with children who may have additional needs.
- The ability to encourage and inspire young people.
- Good organisational skills.
- Effective team worker.
- The ability to use your own initiative.
- The ability to work in a flexible way.
