We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for Forest School to enhance our curriculum and inspire pupils through creative and engaging learning experiences. Salary £27,354.43 – £28,575.22 per year (38 weeks, 37.5 hours/week). For four days a week: £21,883.54 – £22,860.18.

Responsibilities

  • Teach primary-age children, including those with SEN, in the Forest School curriculum.
  • Plan, prepare, deliver, and assess CPD lessons, PPA cover, extra-curricular club sessions, and other related programmes to enhance the School’s Forest School provision.
  • Ensure all equipment associated with the Forest School session is correctly set up, maintained, stored, and returned on completion.
  • Establish constructive relationships and communicate with external agencies as required.
  • Lead agreed enrichment activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths – Grade C or above.
  • HLTA qualification.
  • Experience delivering Forest School sessions to young people aged 5‑11 in a school environment.
  • Knowledge of the Level 3 Forest School Qualification and ability to deliver the curriculum throughout.
  • Ability to encourage and inspire young people through the Forest School provision.
