The Finance & Administration Accounts Consultant will play a key role in supporting our growing client base of town and parish councils across England and Wales. This role blends software implementation, client training, and ongoing consultancy support across both our financial and administrative software solutions. You will work closely with clients to ensure they are confident and capable users of our systems, while contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of our training materials and support resources. Our offices are located in Uffcott, Wroughton near Swindon, easily accessible from Junctions 15 and 16 on the M4. This is a part-time role (22.5 hours per week) and a hybrid position (two days per week in the office). Occasional travel to client sites and UK-wide conferences will be required.

What you will do

  • Financial Software Implementation & Training: Set up our financial software for new clients, including creating a chart of accounts, migrating data from existing systems, and delivering hands-on training either online or on-site. Support clients with Year-End accounts preparation and general data entry tasks as required, including occasional on-site visits. Provide refresher training and ongoing consultancy support to ensure clients continue to maximise the value of our financial software solutions.
  • Administration Software Implementation & Training: Set up our administration software for new clients, covering bookings management, cemeteries and memorials, allotments, and asset inventory, including data migration and hands-on training. Deliver clear, structured, and engaging training sessions on both financial and administrative software, ensuring users feel confident in their day-to-day tasks. Develop a thorough understanding of how our finance and administration systems interact, and communicate this clearly and effectively to clients.
  • Ongoing Client Support: Provide approachable, professional guidance to clients on best practice within the scope of our software solutions. Provide first-line software support when office-based, responding to client queries and assisting with troubleshooting in a timely and professional manner. Represent Rialtas at industry conferences and events, promoting our software and services in a positive and professional manner. Maintain and update training materials, workbooks, and user guides in line with each new software release. Undertake any other related duties as required to support the team and our clients.

What we are looking for

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a patient, clear, and professional approach when engaging with clients in person or remotely.
  • Confident computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; strong Excel skills are particularly advantageous.
  • A proficient level of numeracy and financial awareness; full training will be provided on our systems and on finance within the local council sector.
  • A structured, process-oriented mindset with the ability to work within established procedures and contribute to their efficient management.
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently with confidence and initiative.

Additional Requirements

  • Familiarity with finance software such as Sage Accounts, Xero, or similar packages.
  • Prior experience in finance reporting or supporting financial data management.
  • Previous experience working in local government or within a software business.
  • A strong client service orientation with experience supporting or managing B2B client relationships.
  • Own transport and a valid driving licence.
  • Excited about joining an initially small team that cares passionately about its customers.
