Territory Manager – Toys
£35-40,000 Basic, Excellent Commission Structure + Company Car & Benefits
The Company
Our Client is a growing & established company within the toy, gift, and educational sectors with over 75 years’ experience. They manufacture a range of innovative products across a number of categories and cater for both pre-school and school ages. They are now seeking an ambitious, self-motivated Territory Manager with a dynamic and proven track record in sales to manage an existing patch covering some of the Midlands and the South-West / Wales.
The Role
The accounts on the area are in the main either independent toy shops and/or garden centres, although there are some small group accounts (up to 5 branches) along with some larger independents. The area has a large number of live accounts and generates a good level of existing sales, but it is absolutely full of potential for somebody who wants to really make a name for themselves.
Candidate Profile
An experienced Territory Manager who is capable of managing him/herself and the area with complete autonomy. Candidates should be able to operate with a minimum of supervision including doing their own journey plans, assessing their own commercial priorities, and really making sure that sales on the area are maximised. Our Client is very keen for candidates to have career stability on their CVs. Apparently once somebody joins the Company they very rarely leave until they retire. Many of the current employees have been there for 20 or 30 years.
Category Background
A slight preference for toys, arts and crafts or gifting, however they will genuinely consider candidates from any other non-food category. They’ll very much welcome applications from people who have sold into the garden centre channel regardless of whichever category they have come from.
Channel Background
The majority of the accounts on the area are either independent toy shops, garden centres, arts and craft shops, so candidates should ideally have had exposure to one of these. They’ll also consider candidates who have sold nursery and infant goods into the baby shop/nursery channel.
Wildcards
Our Client is also very relaxed about looking at capable Territory Managers from any category and having sold into any channel as long as they have the right attitude, personality, drive and competence. A proven and successful Territory Manager from any category or channel and with the right attitude will definitely be considered for this role.
Living Location
Candidates should ideally live within the following geography: Starting at Worcester go west to Leominster, then south Chepstow (passing through Hereford and Monmouth). From Chepstow go across the Severn estuary to Bristol, then due east to Swindon, from Swindon go north to Stratford on Avon, and from Stratford go west and back to Worcester. Basically candidates who are based in the West Midlands, South Wales or South West will be considered if they have the right background and/or attitude.
Due to anticipated response levels we shall only be able to contact candidates whose applications we wish to progress. If you do not hear from us your application will be deemed to be unsuccessful on this occasion.
