We are a family run Builders Merchant based in Croydon since 1912.

Full Time, permanent hours Monday to Friday 7.00am to 5.00pm.

23 Days holiday plus Bank Holidays, extra holiday rewarded after 5 years.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 2 Driving Licence held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 points for minor offences (no DR DD TT IN).
  • Valid CPC training records up to date.
  • Valid HIAB (Lorry Mounted Crane) experience is preferred but not essential as we have a training programme.
  • You must be over the age of 25 years (insurance purposes).
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
  • Must be physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.

About us and your role:

We are one of the largest independent Builders Merchants in the Southeast, with a sustainable and renewable energy training centre. We stock a vast array of materials required for all areas of the building trade, including Timber, Sanitaryware, Heating/Renewables and Plumbing. Our company has a friendly and welcoming approach; from the moment our customers approach us we strive to give the best customer experience.

This role requires multi drop deliveries from our yard in Croydon to our various customer sites. The transport team use a group chat to help with communications. The vehicle must be returned to the depot at the end of each shift.

We are looking for someone who understands the importance of good customer service and has a professional and safety conscious approach to their duties. Assisting with loading your vehicle and securing your vehicle's load safely, comply with vehicle security and procedure at all times. Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues. Driving our company vehicles and operating company equipment in a safe and professional manner in accordance with company policies, procedures & legislation, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and others, adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety at Work Act, including accident, incident, and damage reporting.
