The Role

We are looking for a passionate, experienced and ambitious Registered Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day running of our first home. A beautiful 2 placement home designed to support young people aged 7-17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Whether you’re an experienced Registered Manager or a strong Deputy ready to take that next step, we want to hear from you. This is a rare opportunity to shape a new home from the ground up, with the full support of a hands-on, ambitious director team who are committed to your success.

You’ll have the autonomy to build a culture of excellence and care, backed by robust systems, investment and a long-term growth plan that reflects our belief in doing things the right way.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Leadership & Compliance
  • Lead the home in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and the Quality Standards (2015)
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
  • Ensure Ofsted readiness at all times and aim for an “Outstanding” rating
  • Review and maintain the Statement of Purpose regularly
  • Care Delivery
    • Oversee high-quality, person-centred care for children aged 8–17
    • Champion a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach
    • Collaborate with therapists, social workers and other professionals
    • Empower young people to be heard in all aspects of their care
  • Team Development
    • Recruit and train a committed team
    • Lead regular supervisions, appraisals and team meetings
    • Build a culture of positivity, consistency and accountability
  • Operations & Resource Management
    • Manage rotas, admissions and home audits
    • Maintain a safe, compliant and warm home environment
    • Monitor budgets and ensure financial efficiency
    • Keep accurate, timely records across all areas
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build strong relationships with professionals and local authorities
    • Manage the submission of Reg 44 and Reg 45 reports
    • Represent the home and group values in all external engagements

    What We’re Looking For

    • Essential:
    • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willing to complete within 12 months)
    • Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare already achieved
    • 5+ years’ experience in children’s residential care
    • At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
    • A strong understanding of safeguarding and regulatory compliance
    • Proven success achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes
  • Desirable:
    • Additional training in therapeutic models or child psychology
    • Experience working with children with EBD in a solo or small group home

    You’ll also need:

    • Resilience, vision and a commitment to quality
    • Strong leadership and people skills
    • A full manual driving licence
    • Flexibility to be part of the on-call rota
    • Ambition to grow into a group leadership role
