This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading from the front—combining technical leadership, operational delivery and hands-on engineering expertise within complex enterprise environments.
You will own the delivery of critical data engineering programmes while actively contributing to design, development and technical decision-making across the platform.
The Role
This is a high-impact leadership position where you will be responsible for both strategic delivery and deep technical execution. Responsibilities include:
- Owning end-to-end delivery of enterprise data engineering programmes
- Driving successful execution across timelines, quality and business objectives
- Designing and building scalable data solutions using Python, Spark and Databricks
- Providing architecture leadership across Lakehouse and data platform initiatives
- Managing technical risks, dependencies and delivery challenges
- Working directly with business stakeholders, architects and leadership teams
- Mentoring engineers and driving a culture of engineering excellence
- Establishing best practice across CI/CD, governance, monitoring and platform reliability
- Remaining hands-on with development and technical problem solving (30–50% of your time)
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years within data or software engineering
- Experience leading complex data engineering programmes
- Strong hands-on Python background
- Advanced Databricks expertise
- Spark / PySpark experience
- Strong data architecture and Lakehouse design knowledge
