Senior Database Developer

I’m currently seeking an experienced Lead Database Developer for our Investment Banking client located in Central London. This will be a senior role where you will lead a newly formed team of 6 Database Developers.

This role will remain technically hands-on and as a team, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of our clients’ technology stack. You will work with stakeholders across the business to enhance database efficiency, reporting capabilities, and system architecture, ensuring stability, resilience, and compliance.

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the London office.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end software development process, from inception to deployment.
• Manage a team of 6+ database developers, ensuring high-quality system delivery.
• Oversee SQL Server development (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) and Power BI solutions.
• Drive strategic business and regulatory initiatives by implementing high-value system changes.
• Ensure adherence to audit and compliance requirements.
• Introduce best-in-class third-party software solutions where necessary.
• Promote Diversity and Inclusion across the team.

Skills & Experience

• Expertise in SQL Server, Data Warehousing, and Power BI.
• Experience with Azure is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of financial markets and trading systems.
• Experience managing and mentoring development teams.
• Proficiency in CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automated testing environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
