A global enterprise technology firm is looking to hire a commercial Technical Pre-sales Engineer to join a growing pre-sales and customer engineering function focused on some of the world's largest financial institutions. This is a highly visible role sitting between Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success, working directly with tier one banks and major capital markets firms to help design, demonstrate, and implement complex observability and performance monitoring solutions.

The business is exceptionally well established within financial services, works with the vast majority of the world's leading investment banks, and continues to grow globally with significant backing and investment. The environment suits someone who enjoys combining technical depth with commercial engagement - someone comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders, running technical workshops, and helping clients solve complex monitoring and operational challenges.

The Role

  • You'll partner closely with enterprise sales teams throughout the full sales lifecycle, acting as the technical authority during client engagements.
  • Delivering product demonstrations and technical presentations to senior banking stakeholders.
  • Running workshops and discovery sessions to understand client environments and requirements.
  • Supporting Proof of Concepts and technical evaluations.
  • Helping position solutions against competing observability and APM vendors.
  • Responding to technical RFPs and RFIs.
  • Working closely with Product and Engineering teams to shape client solutions.
  • Supporting strategic enterprise accounts across complex, multi-stakeholder sales environments.

The client base is heavily focused around capital markets and tier one banking organisations, so experience operating within highly regulated, enterprise-scale financial environments is important.

What They're Looking For

  • They're looking for someone with a blend of pre-sales capability, technical engineering knowledge, and strong commercial, communication skills.
  • Suitable backgrounds could include: Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, Sales Engineer, Customer Solutions Engineer, Technical Account Manager.
  • Experience sought includes:
    • 3+ years in a pre-sales / solutions engineering environment.
    • Experience with observability, APM, or monitoring technologies.
    • Exposure to tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Geneos, Nagios, New Relic, or similar platforms.
    • Strong Linux and/or Windows administration knowledge.
    • Scripting or programming capability (Python, Shell, Java or similar).
    • Basic networking and database knowledge.
    • Experience working with enterprise financial services clients is highly advantageous.
    • Experience within capital markets, trading environments, or tier one banking infrastructure teams would be particularly relevant.

Why This Role?

  • Opportunity to work with globally recognised financial institutions.
  • High-impact, client-facing technical role.
  • Complex enterprise software environment.
  • Strong internal growth and progression opportunities.
  • Collaborative and highly experienced technical leadership team.
