A leading global brokerage and investment group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst / Solution Lead to join its Execution Services IT team in London. This is an opportunity to work within a fast‐paced front‐office technology environment, partnering closely with trading, compliance, operations, and development teams to deliver critical trading technology solutions.
The Team
You will join the Institutional Equity Front Office IT function, responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting trading applications used across global markets. The team collaborates directly with business stakeholders to deliver high‐performance, scalable systems supporting equities trading and execution.
Role Overview
As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will act as the key bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. You will lead the requirements process, shape technology solutions, support architecture discussions, and oversee delivery through testing and implementation. This role requires strong experience in global equities trading, including detailed knowledge of EMEA market structure, order routing, and trade workflow. The ideal candidate will bring hands‐on experience in equity broking, OMS/EMS platforms, and MiFID transaction reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with trading, compliance, operations, and technology teams to analyse business requirements and translate them into clear, actionable solutions.
- Align stakeholders across business, technology, and external vendors to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Map business processes, recommend improvements, and document detailed functional and technical requirements.
- Work closely with developers to clarify solution designs, interface requirements, and cross‐system dependencies.
- Present and articulate technology solutions, architecture concepts, and design frameworks to senior stakeholders.
- Drive project initiation, planning, and knowledge transfer activities.
- Coordinate with QA teams to support test planning, validation, and issue resolution.
- Ensure timely delivery of high‐quality trading technology features and enhancements.
- Maintain compliance with required training and regulatory obligations.
Required Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst or Solution Lead within a trading or brokerage environment.
- Deep understanding of global equities trading, including order lifecycle, market structure, auctions, and routing.
- Strong knowledge of MiFID trade and transaction reporting.
- Familiarity with front‐to‐back trade flows.
- Technical competency in SQL, FIX protocol, and basic Linux commands.
- Experience with OMS/EMS platforms and equity market connectivity.
- Understanding of system design, architecture, and integration.
- Experience with SDLC tools (JIRA, Confluence) and CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, GitHub, SonarQube).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high‐touch, low‐touch, programme trading, and market connectivity workflows.
