We’re looking for a high-calibre Solution Engineer with a passion for performance and capital markets technology to deliver complex, front-office trading systems for leading global investment banks, asset managers, fintechs and exchanges. This role sits at the intersection of engineering excellence, client engagement, and strategic delivery — working hands-on in Java to design and build highly performant, resilient, low-latency trading platforms across OMS, EMS and exchange connectivity environments.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and delivering high-performance, low-latency trading solutions in capital markets environments
  • Contributing directly to the codebase on the most technically challenging aspects of client deliveries
  • Architecting performant, resilient distributed systems informed by deep domain knowledge
  • Building solutions across OMS, EMS, Smart Order Routing, Matching Engines, FIX gateways and Risk platforms
  • Working with event-driven architectures, replicated state machines and distributed consensus systems
  • Applying best practices in separation of concerns, clean architecture and test-driven / behaviour-driven development
  • Advocating technical decisions to clients, stakeholders and internal teams
  • Ensuring adherence to Agile delivery processes and mature SDLC standards
  • Coaching and mentoring engineers, driving technical quality across teams
  • Escalating and articulating technical risks clearly to leadership and clients

What we’re looking for

  • Strong Java engineering background with a focus on highly performant, low-latency systems
  • Significant experience in capital markets technology environments
  • Experience building solutions within:
  • Order Management Systems (OMS)
  • Execution Management Systems (EMS)
  • Experience using Aeron in high-performance capital markets or digital assets environments
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture and consensus models
  • Strong knowledge of data structures (maps, sets, queues, etc.)
  • Experience operating within Agile frameworks and structured SDLC environments
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trusted client relationships
  • Comfortable leading technical discussions and advocating architecture decisions
  • Why this role

    • Direct impact on mission-critical front-office trading platforms
    • Exposure to elite capital markets institutions and high-performance engineering environments
    • Highly technical, architecture-driven delivery work
    • Opportunity to mentor and influence engineering standards
    • Collaborative, high-standard engineering culture
    • Strong work/life balance with flexible hybrid working
