We’re looking for a high-calibre Solution Engineer with a passion for performance and capital markets technology to deliver complex, front-office trading systems for leading global investment banks, asset managers, fintechs and exchanges. This role sits at the intersection of engineering excellence, client engagement, and strategic delivery — working hands-on in Java to design and build highly performant, resilient, low-latency trading platforms across OMS, EMS and exchange connectivity environments.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing and delivering high-performance, low-latency trading solutions in capital markets environments
- Contributing directly to the codebase on the most technically challenging aspects of client deliveries
- Architecting performant, resilient distributed systems informed by deep domain knowledge
- Building solutions across OMS, EMS, Smart Order Routing, Matching Engines, FIX gateways and Risk platforms
- Working with event-driven architectures, replicated state machines and distributed consensus systems
- Applying best practices in separation of concerns, clean architecture and test-driven / behaviour-driven development
- Advocating technical decisions to clients, stakeholders and internal teams
- Ensuring adherence to Agile delivery processes and mature SDLC standards
- Coaching and mentoring engineers, driving technical quality across teams
- Escalating and articulating technical risks clearly to leadership and clients
What we’re looking for
- Strong Java engineering background with a focus on highly performant, low-latency systems
- Significant experience in capital markets technology environments
- Experience building solutions within:
- Order Management Systems (OMS)
- Execution Management Systems (EMS)
