A leading global financial services firm is seeking a Credit Analyst to join its Risk department. The business operates across energy, commodities, and financial markets, providing clearing, execution, market access, and hedging solutions to a broad institutional client base.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of a diverse portfolio of counterparties, ensuring robust understanding of client business models, financial strength, and exposure to macroeconomic and market risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed qualitative and quantitative credit analysis across a portfolio of global clients and counterparties
- Assess financial statements, business models, and macroeconomic drivers impacting credit risk
- Produce clear, well-structured credit recommendations for approval by senior risk governance forums (Credit Committee / CRO)
- Engage directly with internal stakeholders and, where required, external clients to support credit due diligence
- Monitor ongoing exposures and support periodic credit reviews and limit renewals
- Contribute to credit risk reporting, MI, and ad-hoc analysis for senior management
- Support development and enhancement of credit risk frameworks, policies, and processes
- Work closely with trading, operations, risk, and business teams to ensure effective credit risk management
Candidate Profile
- Experience in credit analysis, counterparty risk, or financial risk management within financial services
- Strong understanding of financial statements and credit assessment methodologies
- Familiarity with macroeconomic and country risk considerations
- Confident communicator with ability to present findings to senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and sound commercial judgement
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, global markets environment
