Customer Success - Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) AI Platform | Banking & Enterprise Technology London (Hybrid – Canary Wharf) £80,000–£100,000 + equity potential

A heavily-backed AI firm founded by one of the original builders behind a major financial technology success story is hiring multiple Forward Deployed Engineers as it enters a major commercial growth phase. The business is building an AI workflow platform designed specifically for financial services — helping banks automate complex operational processes that historically took weeks to complete. Early results have already attracted serious institutional attention, with a major global bank secured as the flagship client and several tier-one financial institutions currently progressing through discussions and pilot activity.

They’re looking for highly technical, commercially aware engineers capable of working directly with enterprise customers to deploy AI-driven workflow solutions into live banking environments.

The Opportunity

  • This is a rare chance to join extremely early in the build-out of a business with:
    • Significant institutional credibility
    • Senior banking relationships already established
    • A genuinely differentiated AI product
    • Strong commercial momentum before broader market launch
    • Immediate enterprise deployment work underway

The London team is scaling rapidly from its Canary Wharf base, with plans to grow both technical and commercial headcount aggressively over the next 12–18 months. You’ll join early enough to influence:

  • Client deployment strategy
  • Product feedback and iteration
  • AI workflow implementation standards
  • Commercial expansion opportunities
  • Long-term customer success frameworks

The environment is highly entrepreneurial, fast-moving, technical, and commercially ambitious.

The Role

You’ll operate as a hybrid between:

  • Forward Deployed Engineer
  • AI Solutions Engineer
  • Technical Customer Success
  • Implementation Consultant
  • Workflow Automation Specialist

Initially, much of the work will focus on deploying solutions into a major global banking client environment, working closely with both technical and operational stakeholders. Responsibilities will include:

  • Deploying AI workflow solutions into enterprise banking environments
  • Working directly with customers to understand operational processes and automation opportunities
  • Configuring and adapting AI-driven workflows around client requirements
  • Acting as the bridge between engineering, product, and customer teams
  • Supporting onboarding, rollout, adoption, and optimisation initiatives
  • Helping clients maximise platform usage and long-term value
  • Translating technical capability into measurable operational outcomes
  • Feeding implementation insight back into product and engineering teams
  • Supporting usage expansion and commercial growth across existing accounts

This is a highly client-facing technical role with significant visibility internally and externally.

What They’re Looking For

The ideal profile combines technical capability, deployment experience, and strong communication skills. Requirements include:

  • Experience working with AI or GenAI workflow tooling
  • Strong understanding of modern deployment environments
  • Client-facing implementation or solutions experience
  • Ability to work directly with enterprise stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in startup or scale-up environments
  • Strong problem-solving capability and technical curiosity

Particular interest in candidates with exposure to:

  • Claude Code
  • AI agent frameworks
  • Kubernetes
  • Docker
  • React
  • Low-code / no-code deployment tooling
  • Workflow automation platforms
  • Banking or financial services environments

Likely backgrounds could include:

  • Forward Deployed Engineering
  • Solutions Engineering
  • AI Implementation
  • Technical Customer Success
  • Platform Engineering
  • Developer Relations
  • Technical Consulting
  • Workflow Automation Engineering

Roughly 4–8 years’ experience is preferred, although strong candidates with slightly less experience will still be considered.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • AI business with major institutional backing already secured
  • One of the earliest technical hires into the commercial deployment team
  • Direct exposure to tier-one banking clients
  • Blend of engineering, customer interaction, and strategic influence
  • Opportunity to work on real-world AI deployment at enterprise scale
  • Strong long-term upside through equity and commercial growth
  • Significant scope for progression as the company scales internationally

This is the type of role that typically gets filled quietly through networks rather than being openly advertised. Please contact Ian Bailey at Harrington Starr for full details.
