I have just partnered with a boutique hedge fund seeking a highly experienced Intraday Futures Quant to help build a new intraday trading desk from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to design, implement, and manage intraday trading strategies in the futures markets, contributing directly to the expansion of the firm’s trading capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead the intraday trading desk, including strategy development, infrastructure, and execution processes.
  • Design, develop, and implement intraday trading strategies in the futures space.
  • Work across all aspects of the trading lifecycle: data collection, signal generation, backtesting, execution, and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with the research and trading team to integrate new ideas and continuously improve models.
  • Manage and optimize market data and trading infrastructure for intraday trading.
  • For candidates with options experience, handle complex multi-dimensional datasets and integrate into trading strategies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quantitative trading or research, ideally in intraday futures trading; options experience a plus.
  • Proven experience across the full quant stack: data, modeling, backtesting, and execution.
  • Strong programming skills (Python, C#, or similar) and familiarity with trading platforms.
  • Deep understanding of market microstructure, particularly in futures contracts; options market knowledge is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of building a trading desk from scratch.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in both futures and options markets, with understanding of data structure differences.
  • Track record of successfully implementing intraday strategies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
