We are seeking a customer-centric professional to serve as the primary point of contact for all inbound and select proactive sales activities across all divisions of a Life Science company. This Inside Sales Support role will operate independently to boost sales revenue while collaborating closely with field sales, service, and operational teams to deliver exceptional support and foster ongoing growth in sales.
Location: Sheffield, office-based
Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers through telephone, email, and live chat on our website to address inquiries and provide solutions.
- Develop, send, and follow up on quotations from inquiries aimed at closing sales, while building and nurturing strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Actively identify new business opportunities stemming from sales inquiries, product launches, marketing campaigns, exhibitions, and more.
- Prepare and submit bids for tenders on behalf of the company.
- Manage and coordinate activities from multiple shared sales and customer-focused email accounts.
- Generate sales reports and track sales activity, analysing data to uncover insights on performance, trends, and opportunities for growth.
- Create regular sales reports for management meetings to aid in sales forecasting.
- Maintain updated records in the CRM system, ensuring current product offerings, pricing, and customer information are available.
- Assist in organizing conferences, sample campaigns, and other corporate events.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Logistics departments to ensure effective alignment of sales activities.
- Provide necessary support and assistance to the Field Sales and Marketing Teams as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education/Experience: Relevant experience in an inside customer or sales support role is required. Preferred but not required: A BSc in a scientific discipline or sales/commercial experience within a Life Science company.
- Language Proficiency: Ability to read, analyse, and interpret various types of documents; write reports and correspondence; and effectively communicate with managers and clients. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
- Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic mathematical operations and able to interpret data using various formats such as bar graphs.
- Reasoning Skills: Apply common sense to follow written and oral instructions and solve problems in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in relevant software, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
