This is a full-time, on-site Optical Assistant role at our Stockport location. The Optical Assistant will be responsible for assisting customers with eyewear selection, booking patient appointments, and providing information on lenses and frames. Additional duties include performing pre-screening tests, maintaining accurate records, handling payments, informing patients about all possibilities of corrections e.g. Spectacles and Contact Lenses, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all customers.
Qualifications
- Customer service and interpersonal skills to engage warmly and professionally with clients.
- Basic technical knowledge of eyecare processes and visual equipment, as well as the ability to perform pre-screening tests.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in maintaining patient records and processing payments.
- Strong communication skills for explaining product options and services to customers.
- Sales or retail experience, especially in an optical or healthcare setting, is advantageous.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, patient-focused environment.
- Proficiency with scheduling systems and general computer usage is a plus.
