At The Thomas Lord, we’re looking for a General Manager who knows how to create that feeling.
Set in the Hampshire village of West Meon, near Petersfield and Winchester, the Thomas Lord brings together great food, characterful bedrooms and a beautiful garden—with pizzas fresh from the outdoor oven and plenty of reasons for guests to stay a little longer.

- Salary of up to £46,000 per annum.

Lead, motivate and inspire
As General Manager, you’ll set the tone for the whole business. Your presence on the floor, the way you coach your team and the pride you take in the pub will shape every guest’s experience.
You’ll:
- Lead from the front, creating a warm welcome and consistently high standards across food, drinks, service and bedrooms.
- Build a team people want to be part of, through thoughtful recruitment, clear expectations, coaching and development.
- Make the Thomas Lord a true village favourite, building local relationships and giving guests reasons to return.
- Drive a commercially strong business, using your understanding of sales, P&L, labour, stock and wastage to make sound decisions.
- Plan ahead, publishing rotas at least two weeks in advance and balancing the needs of the team, guests and business.
- Keep everyone safe, taking ownership of food safety, health and safety, fire procedures and licensing responsibilities, including those of the Designated Premises Supervisor.
- Bring ideas and energy, spotting opportunities to grow the business while protecting everything guests love about a proper country pub.

- Take pride in standards and follow through on the details.
- Can work evenings, weekends and bank holidays, with a reliable plan for travelling to West Meon.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
