We're looking for an enthusiastic Commis chef to join our team at Richmond Hill Hotel, an independent Georgian gem overlooking London's greenest borough.
Just a stone's throw from Richmond Park, we're where city buzz meets leafy calm. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and their warmth, energy, and creativity have earned us a place on The Sunday Times' and The Caterer's lists of top industry employers.
Our culture? Award-winning, progressive, and delightfully independent. The building might be historic, but our thinking isn't. We're refreshingly free-spirited and like to do things differently – from our décor to our people. Here, being yourself isn't just encouraged; it's essential.
We believe real luxury is found in thoughtful touches, genuine care, and attention to detail. That's what makes our guests feel truly special.
What’s in it for you…
- You'll enjoy a competitive annual salary of £27,656.30, plus a variable monthly service charge, averaging around £500 per month.
- Access to hundreds of online perks & discounts
- Extra day’s holiday for every year you work for us (up to 5 additional days)
- Free use of our onsite gym, meals on duty and parking on site
- Bespoke career development through internal and external training schemes
- Refer a friend scheme, with up to £500 incentive
- Hotel recognition Programme including our Employee of the Month and Manager of the Quarter awards, long service awards, rewards payments
- Flexible working patterns, as well as much more...
What will I be responsible for?
This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring chef who is passionate about hospitality and keen to develop their career. You'll gain hands-on experience across breakfast and lunch operations, receive support from experienced chefs, and have genuine opportunities to grow and progress within Richmond Hill Hotel.
As a Commis Chef you will play an important role in delivering high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences across our breakfast and lunch services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation and service of breakfast and lunch dishes to the highest standards.
- Ensuring all food is prepared, presented and served in line with company standards and recipes.
- Supporting the kitchen team with daily mise en place and food preparation.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness standards at all times.
- Monitoring stock levels and helping to minimise waste.
- Working closely with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Learning from our experienced Chef de Parties and senior chefs to develop your culinary skills and knowledge.
- Contributing ideas and demonstrating a positive, flexible attitude to support the success of the kitchen.
What we’re looking for…
- A hunger for hospitality and going the extra mile.
- Someone that is willing to bring their best, authentic self to work. Rather than reading from a script or putting on a persona, our approach is all about bringing the very best version of ourselves to work every day.
- A creative approach to your role – we believe that a game changing idea can come from anyone, anytime.
- Someone who thrives in a dynamic and vibrant environment and is committed to delivering exceptional hospitality.
If this sounds like a role you could get excited about, we would love to hear from you!
Please note that all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
