The Head of Sales, Digital will work alongside the Digital Sales Director, responsible for owning and driving the performance of all Digital Sales Channels for HarperCollins UK. The role requires the ability to form excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, strong organisation and planning skills, and a desire to be involved in the whole publishing process. Ultimately, we are looking for someone who can take the initiative and is truly eager to sell our amazing books.

Key Tasks And Accountabilities

  • Cultivate strong customer relationships and partnerships that deliver growth, maximising opportunities to lead the market and consistently innovate.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to take direct responsibility for setting and monitoring the digital sales strategy of key commercial lists, achieving and exceeding our ambitious targets and driving increased value for our authors and divisions and aligned with HarperCollins’ wider digital and commercial objectives.
  • Partner day‑to‑day with internal teams across Editorial, Pricing and Analytics, Marketing/PR and Production to ensure our digital titles are of the highest possible standard with optimised launch plans, pricing, metadata and discoverability.
  • Support the Digital Sales Director with day‑to‑day business and wider strategic objectives.
  • Develop expertise in the digital landscape both in the UK and globally, identifying key trends and an awareness of competition in the market.

Experience

  • Strong experience of digital account management in publishing, with a detailed knowledge of all Key Digital Accounts.
  • Team Management and Leadership experience.
  • Market analysis and the ability to use data to inform decision making.

Skills

  • Excellent communication with strong customer‑service ethic.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
