The predicted salary is between 36000 - 44000 £ per year.

This is a key account management role, selling across the HarperCollins list to non-traditional accounts. This role is responsible for delivering growth sales targets across these accounts through excellent, creative account management. You’d be working within the supportive and effective Sales Development team, where lies responsibility for non-traditional retail, trade and value wholesale, subscription boxes, sales promotion and branded publishing deals. You’ll work with group and divisional stakeholders to develop and deliver progressive publishing strategies, with the support of experienced and knowledgeable editorial, marcomms, sales and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of sales revenue across key non-trade accounts for our group publishing
  • Increase sales and bring non-trade specialist knowledge to the role
  • Where necessary, develop new products, utilising backlist to enhance sales, meeting customer briefs and requirements
  • Maximise sales across the portfolio of HarperCollins bestselling brand authors, IP developed projects, backlist genre ranges, aligned with strategy for the non-traditional market.
  • Build positive and constructive relationships with internal contacts across publishing teams and business managers
  • Liaise with the customer service distribution team, and excellent order management to efficiently process and supply accounts
  • Bring Sales Development to the centre of the wider business by increasing profile and presenting internally to build greater understanding of new and non-traditional markets/customers

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Experience of account management in the non-trade market
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and passion of the non-traditional book market, consumer trends and product development processes
  • Proven creative thinking when responding to customer briefs
  • Experience of producing sales presentations to the highest standard, including account performance analysis and projections
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of sales functions such as customer relationship management, margin calculation, profitability management and knowledge of production and supply and distribution processes.
  • Experience of working in a high performing sales environment, balancing priorities whilst displaying self-motivated approach
  • Have an optimistic, can-do attitude
  • To work quickly, accurately and effectively

  • Be an excellent communicator and presenter with a strong customer orientated outlook
