We have an exciting opportunity for a Brand Manager to launch a market-leading community via a brand new commercial Fantasy list sitting within HarperFiction. This is a rare opportunity for someone with previous marketing experience within or outside of book publishing to step up and coordinate a market disrupting launch of the new imprint, integrating a reader-first DTC strategy and ambitious plan for recruitment and expansion. There may also be opportunities within the role to work on select campaigns and brand-building across the existing list.

Key Attributes, Skills And Experience Desired:

  • An inventive thinker who loves coming up with and executing creative ideas
  • Takes a reader-first approach, always looking to new ways to reach audiences, build communities and connect with readers
  • Experience working on a commercially focused, popular SFF fiction list or on SFF within a non-genre list
  • Entrepreneurial: A self-starter who is hungry to own and drive strategy
  • A clever copy writer with an eye for design
  • Experience of owning, devising and implementing best-in-class marketing and/or brand strategy
  • Able to drive digital and audio initiatives and innovation, in tune with digital innovations within the industry
  • A keen understanding of data and ability to rapidly react to what’s working in the market
  • Strategic thinker with focus on ROI
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment across multiple titles/campaigns with multiple stakeholders
  • Relationship-building: excited to collaborate and work closely with others
  • A book obsessive with a clear understanding of reading tastes, genres and market trends
