Harper Recruitment Group is supporting a fast-paced, ecommerce-led, product-based business in Nottingham. As the company continues its strong growth trajectory, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Marketing to take full ownership of the marketing function and play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of the business.
This is a newly created, high-impact role reporting directly into the CEO. You will lead from the front, set the strategic vision, and build a marketing engine that drives brand visibility, digital performance, customer acquisition and long-term commercial growth. This position is ideal for a hands-on, commercially minded marketing leader who thrives in a scaling environment and wants to make a measurable difference from day one.
Key responsibilities:- Setting and delivering the full marketing strategy across ecommerce, digital, brand and campaign activity
- Leading from the front and taking ownership of all marketing output while building a high-performing function
- Driving ecommerce growth through conversion optimisation, product positioning and customer journey improvements
- Managing all digital channels including website, SEO, PPC, paid social and email marketing
- Building a strong brand presence with consistent messaging, tone of voice and visual identity
- Creating high-quality content including product materials, case studies, email sequences and social media
- Owning product marketing, understanding product ranges, customer needs and competitor landscape
- Using data to drive decisions through tools such as Google Analytics, Looker Studio, SEMrush and Meta Ads Manager
- Managing CRM and automation tools such as HubSpot, Klaviyo or Mailchimp
- Collaborating with sales, operations and leadership to align marketing activity with commercial priorities
- Overseeing external agencies including digital, creative and web partners
- Managing the marketing budget and ensuring spend delivers measurable ROI
- Leading strategic growth projects including website upgrades, product launches and new service propositions
- Senior marketing leadership experience within an ecommerce, product-based or B2B environment
- Proven ability to lead from the front and build a function from the ground up
- Experience working within a larger organisation and bringing new skills, structure and best practice into a growing SME
- Strong digital marketing expertise across SEO, PPC, paid social, analytics and content
- Hands-on experience with marketing suites such as HubSpot, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, SEMrush, Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager
- Track record of driving ecommerce performance and delivering commercial growth
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to work closely with senior leadership
- Strong analytical mindset with confidence using CRM and reporting tools
- Creative yet commercially focused approach to brand and campaign development
- Experience in product-led, distribution or logistics environments is highly advantageous
