Harper Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a well-established UK manufacturer. They are looking for an experienced Supplier Relationship Manager to support the coordination of production activity during a period of maternity cover. This role plays a key part in ensuring production is delivered on time, in full and to consistently high quality standards.

The successful Supplier Relationship Manager will work closely with both internal teams and external workshops, maintaining strong supplier relationships, overseeing production schedules and ensuring all orders meet quality and delivery expectations. This position requires a proactive, detail-driven individual with strong communication skills and a hands-on approach.

What will the role involve?

  • Coordinating production workloads across internal and external workshops to ensure orders meet required standards
  • Scheduling pre-QC visits to external workshops and monitoring progress
  • Maintaining an accurate production schedule and communicating updates across the business
  • Receiving workshop deliveries, completing pre-quality inspections and working with Quality Control to resolve issues
  • Managing supplier relationships to ensure delivery dates and quality expectations are met
  • Approving high-value invoices in a timely manner
  • Producing monthly output figures and 3rd-party stock reports
  • Providing estimated costs for custom and bespoke projects
  • Raising purchase orders and updating order management sheets and schedules
  • Responding to technical and manufacturing queries from internal teams
  • Developing a strong understanding of manufacturing techniques and the full product range
  • Regular workshop visits across the UK

Who are we looking for?

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar supplier management or manufacturing planning role
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience using SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Confident Excel user able to work across multiple files
  • Collaborative communicator with the ability to work closely with suppliers and internal teams
  • Excellent planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and appreciation for quality craftsmanship
  • Interest in furniture or lighting manufacturing is advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence and availability to travel throughout the UK
