We are supporting a well-established, design-led building services consultancy as they continue to grow their Mission Critical offering across the UK. They are seeking an Associate Director or Principal level Electrical Engineer to take a lead role on complex data centre projects, working closely with senior leadership and key hyperscale and colocation clients.
This is a senior, front-facing role for an experienced electrical design professional who enjoys technical leadership, client engagement, and shaping project outcomes from concept through delivery. You will act as Electrical Design Lead on major mission critical schemes while mentoring engineers and contributing to the wider growth of the sector.
The role:
- Lead electrical design delivery on data centre projects from feasibility through detailed design
- Act as the primary electrical interface with clients, architects, utilities, and supply chain partners
- Oversee MV/LV systems, substations, UPS, generators, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection
- Manage and review design calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports
- Coordinate closely with other MEP disciplines and the wider project team
- Support fee proposals, bids, and business development within the Mission Critical sector
- Provide technical governance, quality assurance, and risk management
- At Associate Director level, contribute to project financial performance and reporting
About you:
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
- Strong background delivering UK and international data centre projects
- Confident leading design teams and representing the business externally
- Comfortable operating at both detailed technical and strategic levels
