Overview
Farm Manager: Our client, a well-established company in the agricultural industry, is hiring for a farm manager to oversee operations on a farm in Wrexham. They are a respected voice within the sector, committed to supporting family farmers and focusing on environmental sustainability. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong leadership and commercial skills who is passionate about animal welfare and operational excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of daily farm operations
- Ensure animals are cared for to the highest welfare and production standards
- Plan and manage feeding, bedding, vaccinations, and husbandry
- Recruit, train, and supervise farm staff
- Maintain accurate administrative records and compliance documentation
- Maximise Daily Live Weight Gain (DLWG)
- Ensure profitability and achievement of financial targets
- Manage stock across the farm and warehouse
- Oversee maintenance of property, equipment, and machinery
- Keep the unit clean, tidy, and compliant with health & safety and regulatory standards
- Stay informed on pests and diseases
- Oversee warehouse bookings and despatch operation
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Farm Manager with a record of meeting targets
- Strong background in the dairy industry
- Excellent planning, organisational, and leadership skills
- Commercially aware and target-driven
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)
- Full clean driving licence
- A team player with a hands-on, can-do attitude
Compensation & Benefits
- Permanent, full-time role
- Monday-Friday, 7.00am-5.30pm (with alternating weekend rota)
- Competitive salary: £55,000 – £60,000
