The Role
- Lead the accurate and timely processing of multiple payrolls, consolidating group-wide data as needed.
- Ensure full compliance with UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NIC, pensions, and statutory payments, staying current with any regulatory updates.
- Manage all year-end payroll activities across the group, such as P60s, P11Ds, and HMRC submissions.
- Oversee pension schemes, auto-enrolment, and administration of group benefits, including salary sacrifice, healthcare, and share schemes.
- Promote consistency and efficiency by standardising payroll processes and systems across all sites.
- Partner closely with HR and Finance leadership to align payroll operations with broader people and financial strategies.
- Deliver payroll reporting, analysis, and insights to senior management, including group-level cost reporting and forecasting.
- Serve as the point of escalation for complex payroll queries within the group.
- Maintain robust internal controls, manage risk, and ensure readiness for audits.
- Act as the subject matter expert on payroll legislation, processes, and systems for the entire group.

- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
- Proven experience managing multiple payrolls across multi-site or group structures
- Advanced payroll system expertise with a track record of process improvement
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities (advanced Excel proficiency)
