I am working with a Groundworks Contractor who are looking to appoint an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to their team. They are currently outsourcing this function and are looking to bring it in house.
Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Groundworks Estimator/Quantity Surveyor based in Plymouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing accurate and timely estimates for construction projects
- Collaborating with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet all project requirements
- Managing project costs, preparing reports, and assisting with project planning and scheduling
- Daily tasks including cost control, budget management, preparing bills of quantities (BOQ), cost reporting, and cost planning
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in groundworks
- Proven experience in cost control, cost management, and cost reporting
- Ability to prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) and cost planning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in relevant software programs, such as Excel and specialist measurement software
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
