Are you an experienced food procurement professional looking for a highly autonomous remote role where you can make a genuine commercial impact across multiple categories? This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing and innovative food business expanding its presence within UK retail. Operating in a fully remote capacity with strong central support, you’ll take ownership of supplier strategy, commercial negotiations, and sourcing activity across a diverse product portfolio. The role offers real autonomy, strategic influence, and the chance to help shape future growth.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining strong long-term relationships with existing and new suppliers across the UK, Europe, and global markets
- Evaluating supplier offers, comparing proposals, and negotiating best value agreements to ensure cost-effective and sustainable supply
- Leading contract negotiations and establishing strategic supplier partnerships
- Working closely with NPD and Technical teams to support new product launches, category planning, and supply solutions
- Monitoring market trends, commodity movements, and supply chain developments to identify risks and opportunities
- Sourcing new products, ingredients, and suppliers to support commercial growth plans
- Managing supplier performance, service levels, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting cost-saving programmes while maintaining quality and service standards
- Building effective internal relationships across commercial, technical, operations, and development teams
- Ensuring supply continuity and resolving any sourcing challenges proactively
What’s required?
- Relevant degree or equivalent commercial qualification
- Minimum 10 years’ procurement experience within the food industry
- Proven track record of supplier negotiation and commercial success
- Established supplier network and strong market knowledge within food categories
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to work strategically and operationally
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and numerical ability with advanced Excel skills
- Understanding of manufacturing and production processes
- Highly organised, adaptable, and self-motivated approach
- Fluent English; additional European language beneficial
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally
- Strong IT literacy
