Are you a Multi-Skilled Engineer looking to join a fast-paced food manufacturing site where you can get involved in everything from reactive maintenance to continuous improvement projects?
This is an opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a busy food manufacturing operation, working as part of an established Engineering team to maximise equipment reliability and minimise production downtime.
You’ll work across a range of high-speed production and packaging equipment, taking ownership of both electrical and mechanical maintenance while supporting wider site improvement projects.
The role would suit an engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem-solving and working closely with Production to keep a manufacturing site running effectively.
There will also be opportunities to get involved in machinery upgrades, installations and continuous improvement activity.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to
- Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across production and packaging equipment.
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
- Responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns across the site.
- Identifying recurring equipment issues and implementing long-term solutions.
- Supporting continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, efficiency and performance.
- Working closely with Production and Operations teams to resolve engineering issues.
- Supporting machinery installations, upgrades and commissioning.
- Maintaining accurate engineering and maintenance records.
- Ensuring engineering activities are completed in line with Health & Safety and food safety requirements.
- Supporting the development and improvement of the site's preventative maintenance programme.
What’s required?
- Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience within food, beverage or FMCG manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.
- A recognised Engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
- Experience working with automated production and packaging machinery.
- Knowledge of PLC fault finding would be beneficial.
- A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with Engineering, Production and Operations teams.
