Overview

Harper Adams University is looking to recruit a part time Postgraduate Research Student Administrator providing administrative support for the University\’s postgraduate research students from point of application to graduation. In collaboration with the Director of Postgraduate Research and the Postgraduate Research Student Advisor the postholder helps deliver the University\’s aim to provide an excellent student experience for the postgraduate research students.

The successful candidate should have excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work accurately under pressure, including balancing diverse tasks which encompass the entire student lifecycle. Excellent ICT skills, including substantial experience of multiuser databases are essential for this role. Ideally the successful candidate will;

  • Possess a first degree or suitable experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work accurately under pressure, including balancing diverse tasks which encompass the entire student lifecycle.
  • Evidence of self-motivation, with the confidence to take initiative and work autonomously with limited direction.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a professional and proactive approach to client service.
  • Excellent ICT skills, including substantial experience of multi user databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of staff as well as individuals from a range of backgrounds and nationalities.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work, including through occasional evening or weekend work in periods of short-term exceptional workload.
  • Previous experience of higher education administration.
